In Their Own Words
Accounts from business owners who have completed one or more arrangements with Tegas Niaga.
Ahmad Kamarudin
Retail Owner, George Town
"I did the Steady Footing Review when I wasn't sure whether to expand or not. Roszaini didn't tell me what to do — she asked the right questions and pointed out things in my cash flow I'd been ignoring. I left with a clearer picture. That was enough."

Siti Noraini Tan
F&B Operator, Bayan Lepas
"The Decision Support sessions helped me think through whether to bring on a business partner. I appreciated that they never pushed me either way. The working notes document was something I kept referring to for months after. Worth the investment."

Raymond Loh
Service Business, Georgetown
"I've been on the Year-Long Anchor for about eight months now. It's hard to point to one big thing that changed — it's more that I make decisions with less anxiety because I know I have someone to talk them through with. The monthly sessions are 45 minutes well spent."

Norhasimah Mohamad
Trader, Butterworth
"I went in expecting advice. What I got was more useful — questions that helped me think through my own situation. The written summary after was practical and direct. I came back for a second engagement six months later."

Jason Cheah
Light Manufacturing, Perai
"Faizal understood the operational side of what I do, which made the conversations feel relevant. We talked through pricing changes I'd been putting off for two years. I eventually made a change that improved my margin — that alone covered the cost of the sessions."

Linda Heng
Professional Services, George Town
"The review felt measured and honest. There wasn't any attempt to make the findings seem more dramatic than they were, which I appreciated. A few things I'd overlooked in my working capital were pointed out clearly. The follow-up session tied everything together."

Challenge
A Retailer Considering Expansion
A George Town retail owner had been approached about taking on a second premises. Revenue was steady but she had no clear picture of whether her cash position could support the additional costs. She came to Tegas Niaga uncertain about how to evaluate the decision.
What We Did
We started with the Steady Footing Review to establish a clear current picture — working capital, cost structure, and seasonal patterns. Two months later, she returned for Decision Support sessions to work through the expansion question specifically, including three scenarios laid out in the working notes.
Outcome
She decided not to expand at that time — her own conclusion based on the sessions. Eight months later, she returned: her cash position had improved and she was ready to look at it again. The second time, she went ahead, feeling prepared rather than pressured.
"I made the same decision twice. The second time, I made it properly."
Challenge
A Services Owner Through a Difficult Year
A sole owner of a small professional services firm in Penang was facing changes in his client base and rising costs. He had been operating the business for seven years but had never worked with an outside advisor. He came in cautious and a little sceptical.
What We Did
He started with the Year-Long Anchor. The early sessions focused on understanding the business — the revenue mix, cost structure, and how decisions had been made historically. Over time, we revisited pricing, the client retention pattern, and two staffing choices.
Outcome
By the end of the year, he had adjusted his pricing upward (modestly), let go of one client who was consuming disproportionate attention, and began a process to bring in junior support. He described the year as steadier than the previous three combined.
"Having someone to check my thinking against made me less likely to avoid difficult decisions."
Challenge
A Family Business at a Transition Point
A second-generation owner of a trading business in Butterworth was considering bringing a family member into the business. The practical and personal dimensions were tangled together and she wasn't sure which to address first.
What We Did
Decision Support sessions were used to separate the business question from the family question. The working notes made clear which considerations were financial, which were operational, and which were personal. We didn't venture into the personal dimension — only what affected the business.
Outcome
She decided to bring the family member in on a clearly scoped basis — part-time and with defined responsibilities — rather than as a full partner. She felt the sessions helped her think clearly about a situation she'd been avoiding. The scope remained on the business side throughout.
"The sessions helped me separate what I was feeling from what was actually a business decision."

Thinking of Getting in Touch?
There's no application form or lengthy intake process. An email or a phone call is enough to start. We'll have a brief conversation and decide together whether there's a reasonable fit.
If after talking you decide it's not right for you, that's completely fine. We'd rather you make a considered choice than feel obligated to continue.
